NiteNite pod hotel in Birmingham bought out of administration

The NiteNite hotel in Birmingham where guests can sleep in windowless pods has been acquired out of administration by Birmingham businessman Harj Mattu.

The budget hotel NiteNite, on Holliday Street, will be extensively refurbished – it first opened back in 2006 – and the new owner is confident for its future.

Based on the Japanese pod or capsule hotel concept, NiteNite is reported to have been trading profitably over the last eighteen months, with its ‘budget’ pricing offering an economic alternative to late night, long taxi journeys.

NiteNite’s central location should enable it to benefit from the ongoing regeneration of Birmingham, with £600 million being spent on New Street station alone, plans for the Mailbox shopping centre, and more.
