Hitched.co.uk, the UK’s most popular wedding website, has announced the addition of a best new honeymoon hotel category in their 2013 hitched.co.uk Breakthrough Awards which recognises talent in the wedding ‘industry’ – from photography, to floristry or cake design.
Dean Yardley, managing director of hitched.co.uk, said: “The hitched.co.uk breakthrough awards are the UK’s only wedding awards programme to reward and recognise the creative realisation of new honeymoon hotels. We see a wealth of talent creating new honeymoon experiences each year and we wanted to showcase the best of these new hotels.”
All nominations will be judged and shortlisted by an expert authority in each specialist field. For new honeymoon hotel category, the expert judge is Howard Salinger, the Regional Director of TravMedia, who manages the UK arm of the worldwide online news service for travel journalists. He has been running TravMedia for over 10 years, which now sees over 3300 UK based travel writers connecting daily with over 1500 travel brands, all using the service as an online library filled with travel news, photos and information about each brand. TravMedia’s sister company, News4Media, manages similar services across 15 other sectors, including Weddings4Media, providing news to wedding journalists.
To qualify as a new hotel the property must have been newly built or newly rebranded and refurbished as long as the name of the hotel has changed. The hotel also must have been open to honeymoons within the period since 01 June 2010 and had at least one paid guest.
