Splendid Hospitality Group celebrated top talent at its first annual Splendid Family Awards, held at the stunning Empire Suite at the Holiday Inn London – Wembley on 15 September.
Nominees from all 20 hotels, forming part of the Splendid Hospitality Group’s regional portfolio, were represented in seven award categories. Employees were asked to nominate team members who excelled in their roles demonstrating passion and commitment.
Sales drivers and innovators were individually recognised for being outstanding examples in their field and representing the company’s core values – The Splendid Hospitality Way.
Gemma Meale, Director of HR for the group said: “The Splendid Family Awards gives us an official way to recognise and thank our employees for their hard work, dedication and commitment. We also had the opportunity to honour those who have really excelled in what they do – transforming a job into a passion. These winners are what we call the hospitality stars of tomorrow helping us to pave the Splendid Hospitality Way.”
The prestigious Shiraz Boghani Hero Award, presented by the Chairman of Splendid, was given to joint winners, Chris Barrett, Night Manager at Hotel Indigo York, and Simon Drake, General Manager at Conrad London St James. Splendid Family Member of the Year Award, presented by CEO Stuart Bailey, was awarded to Wayne Brady, Doorman at The Grand Hotel & Spa York.
Amongst the individual winner’s parade: James Clarke, General Manager of Hilton London Bankside (Splendid General Manager of the Year), Megan Black, Conference & Events Manager, Holiday Inn London – Wembley (Splendid Sales Driver of the Year) and Leanne Cooke, Holiday Inn Express York (Innovator of the Year). Hotels were also awarded for their collective effort with Hilton London Bankside scooping the Splendid People Hotel of the Year and Vanbrugh House, the Hotel of the Year award.
