Alton Towers is continuing to develop its business, and with it is progressing an existing hotel expansion plan, which was originally submitted in 2008 and which has been through several amendments.
The plans form part of the long term accommodation development strategy for the Alton Towers Resort that included the Enchanted Village which opened earlier this year. Should the application be successful, it would give Alton Towers the option to add another 74 rooms to its flagship accommodation, along with a brand new restaurant, expanded car parking and immersive new theming, creating over 100 jobs.
Hotel Operations Director Janet Gurr commented:
“This is something we’ve been considering for a long time, in order to cater to even more guests in search of the perfect short break. With additions such as the Tree Top Quest, there’s more for our guests to explore at the Resort than ever before – so ensuring we have even more scope for them to turn their day out into a holiday is hugely important.”
