The Kings Cross branch of Tune Hotels has received a prestigious 2014 Agoda Gold Circle Award. Now in its sixth year, the Gold Circle Awards are given to industry-leading hotels who work with Asia’s primary hotel booking site, Agoda.com.
Best qualities of online hospitality industry
Tune Hotels’ Kings Cross recognition for this year’s award was based on Agoda seeing excellent growth on its performance and the brilliant customer feedback it continues to receive. The site looks for hotels that exemplify the best qualities of the online hospitality industry and are chosen based on criteria including an aggregate customer review score of 7.5, consistently competitive pricing and a show of understanding for the business dynamics that define the industry.
Great value rooms, high quality basics
Tune Hotels launched in Malaysia in 2007 with a business model based on the low-cost airline structure, with great value rooms focused on offering high-quality basics – excellent beds, powerful showers, central locations, a clean environment, and 24-hour security – with guests paying extra only for the facilities and services they use. Prices in the UK start from £25 a night for a double or twin room, and regular promotional offers can see rooms on sale from as little as £10.
Expansion
The UK was Tune Hotels’ first expansion outside Asia and in 2010 London was chosen for being one of the world’s leading tourism centres to trial the concept to see if it was viable outside of its home market. Today the chain has welcomed over 750,000 guests at one of its five established hotels in London (Westminster, Kings Cross, Paddington, Liverpool Street) and Edinburgh, and sees its new 104 room property open in Newcastle. A further hotel is due to open in Canary Wharf in February 2015, and work has just started in Liverpool which will open in July next year.
