Staying in hotels can be worrying if you have OCD, or if you like things to be immaculately clean and tidy. But even Monica from friends would be happy staying at The Arch London hotel in Marylebone.
Not only has the luxury boutique hotel achieved and maintained the practically unheard of top score of 100% for cleanliness in ReviewPro, the Head Housekeeper has just been awarded the Housekeeper of the Year accolade in the Boutique Hotelier Awards 2014. And the hotel also boasts a five star rating for cleanliness on TripAdvisor.
Gitana Cibulskiene
Executive Head Housekeeper Gitana Cibulskiene has over 10 years experience in Housekeeping and is renowned for her high standards and attention to detail in ensuring the hotel is spotless. She said:
“My team is like a family, and we are all immensely proud to be acknowledged with this award. It is great to have our hard work recognised as it takes a lot of persistence to maintain the 100% cleanliness rating on ReviewPro, but going the extra mile is worth it to meet customer’s needs and keep them coming back time after time. I truly believe we are the cleanest hotel in London.”
Gitana heads up a 20 strong team of housekeeping staff at the 82 bedroom property, where guestrooms are often inspected up to three times per day with spot checks from different members of staff.
Rewarding staff is as important as training them
Gitana’s mantra is that ‘Rewarding staff is as important as training them.’ So the hotel runs ‘Maid of the Month’ awards and a ‘Magic Moments’ scheme which sees staff win prizes from Champagne to expensive dinners if a member of the management team sees them doing a good job.
Gitana makes sure semi-permanent agency staff is given exactly the same rights, training and privileges as full-time staff to encourage a high level of service and motivation across the board.
Gitana previously worked at the Goring Hotel and the Millennium Mayfair before The Arch London, where she has been for the past three years.
