London based Asset Management firm, Dominvs Hospitality, has completed the refurbishment of the Aston Sheffield Hotel into the Mercure Sheffield Parkway Hotel.
The transformation of the 78-bedroom Sheffield hotel involved redesigning the traditional hotel lobby by combining the front desk, restaurant, bar, lounge area and business centre to ensure that customer happiness is always top of mind.
The professional team involved included the renowned Accor “Mercure” brand as the hotel operator, RSD interiors as Interior Designers, and Jaymar interiors as the appointed build contractors.
New, relaxed and ‘homely’ approach to the interiors
Russ Sparke of RSD Interiors said “RSD Interiors have been happy to provide a new, relaxed and ‘homely’ approach to the interiors, breaking down the barriers between lounge and restaurant areas to form a more flexible multi-purpose space. Combined with this and in line with the new Mercure relaxed approach to work, lounge and dining areas, a modern and fresh approach has been applied to the new furnishings. Attention has also been paid to creating a more flexible control over the lighting, creating more options to ‘scene set’ to suit the various area uses throughout the day and night.”
The idea to convert and rebrand the hotel was initially devised by the Dominvs Hospitality team three months earlier following the great success of previous rebrand projects taken place at their Darlington and Dumfries hotels.
The Mercure Sheffield Parkway hotel is located just four miles from Sheffield City centre and is only a stones’ throw from Meadow Hall Shopping Centre, making it the perfect place to rest your head after a weekend of indulgence or cultural discovery. The hotel offers guests a range of accommodation including classic, deluxe and privilege rooms and is well equipped with event and meeting facilities catering up to 150 guests. There is secure free parking and free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel.
Preet Ahluwalia of Dominvs Hospitality, said: “We see the rebrand as a great opportunity to maximise the performance of our hotel in Sheffield as a Mercure hotel, due to the strength of the Accor distribution system and strong brand identity.”
The hotel will be the first Accor branded hotel in the Dominvs Hospitality portfolio, being of strategic importance for the group’s expansion into the hospitality sector.
