Young British hoteliers Justin Salisbury and Charlotte Newey will open their highly anticipated third property in London’s Pimlico neighbourhood this summer.
Following on from their quirkily cool sister hotels in Brighton and Penzance, the latest design-led outpost of Artist Residence will mark an exciting development in London’s hotel scene – just a mere 10 minute walk from Victoria station – and offer a young, hip alternative to the capitals more impersonal hotels.
Individually designed ‘House Rooms’
The ten bedroom hotel will feature 2 suites and 8 individually designed ‘House Rooms’. The rooms will be furnished in a low-key eclectic style using rustic reclaimed floor boards, vintage furniture and armchairs upholstered in sumptuous fabrics. Bathrooms will be traditional contemporary, with Lefroy Brooks fixtures and fittings to echo the bedroom’s relaxed feel.
Chef Michael Bremner
The hotel is teaming up with acclaimed chef Michael Bremner, of cutting-edge eatery 64 degrees, Brighton, to offer a daily changing menu of tantilising small plates. With the philosophy that food rules, diners can create their own tasting menus to share – gone are the traditional starter, main and dessert. With informal, counter style seating for both lunch and dinner, the restaurant will also serve breakfast to hotel guests.
Michael’s food is playful yet precise, and with dishes such as, Kimchi chicken wings with blue cheese, Potato Knödel, emulsified smoked butter and cabbage and Mackerel, Waldorf and Pomegranate, diners will be left in awe at the sheer technical skill shown in the dishes, whilst at the same time relishing the pared back and unfussy nature of the food – surely the very best kind.
The hotel will also feature a relaxed and intimate cocktail lounge with a light-filled view out over an adjoining garden.
