Boutique hotel group, Hotel du Vin, with its portfolio of 14 characterful hotels has recently created two new partnerships to provide additional reasons to visit the hotels famed for their strong food and drink offering and stylish interiors.
A partnership with the Random House Group will provide travellers with literary inclinations material for a foray into writing, while the new link with ebullient wine pundit Olly Smith will give guests a greater understanding of the delicious wines they are quaffing.
Adding to stays by learning
On the partnerships, Hotel du Vin CEO Gary Davis today commented, “Whilst we know our hotels are massively appreciated for their historic buildings, gorgeous interiors and exemplary dining, we’re also aware that travel today even domestically is increasingly about ‘the experience’.
“So these two partnerships give our guests the chance to add to their stay by learning, either about all things literary or about the very stuff of Hotel du Vin, the wine we feature. We’re delighted to be working with both Random House and Olly Smith, two quite different entities, but each in their own way the very best in their field.’
The Writers’ Academy
Hotel du Vin’s literary partnership with publishing giant Random House will encompass a series of writers’ courses hosted by top authors, local events and a book of the month club.
The writing courses, collectively known as The Writers’ Academy, will begin on 20 September 2013 at Hotel du Vin Harrogate, with an Introduction to Crime Writing. Hosted by lecturer, playwright and author Henry Sutton (University of East Anglia) and acclaimed bestseller, S J Watson (Before I Go To Sleep). The course is the first in a series which will cover a number of different genres as diverse as writing for children and Hammer Horror, each held in a different Hotel du Vin around the country.
