Kew Green Hotels management division announces the opening of a satellite office in Hong Kong. The new office will be the first to open in the region since the purchase of Kew Green Hotels by Chinese hotel company, HK CTS, in 2015. The new Kew Green division will initially take on management of seven HK CTS hotels in China, with the office providing further future management expansion opportunities in the territory.
The office will be headed up by Stephen Woodhouse, who has over 20 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, in his new position as Director of Operations – Hong Kong and will see Kew Green exporting many of its successful UK business models to the HK CTS properties. Formerly Kew Green’s UK Director of Operations for the Central region, Stephen will be working closely with the general managers of the seven Chinese hotels together with a number of Kew Green Hotels’ central support managers, who will be visiting Hong Kong to assist in setting up Kew Green systems and processes over the coming months.
The seven hotels, totaling more than 2,000 bedrooms, are located in Beijing, Macau and Hong Kong, predominantly under the Metropark brand.
Kew Green Hotels is the only UK hotel company known to be undertaking such a venture at this time and, alongside these seven properties is also exploring opportunities for further 3rd party management contracts.
HK CTS initially purchased the entire issued share capital of Kew Green Hotels in 2015, providing a platform for HK CTS to channel its outbound Chinese tourist demand, whilst financially aiding Kew Green’s ambitious growth strategy.
Kew Green CEO Alex Pritchard said, ‘Opening the Kew Green satellite office in Hong Kong is the next stage of our relationship with HK CTS as we look to grow our footprint in the region of China; it really is a fantastic opportunity for us to broaden our expertise in the global hotel market.’
Mr. Chen Rong, Assistant General Manager of CTS (HK) Group, Chairman of HK CTS Hotels Co., Ltd. remarked: “Kew Green is both an excellent investment platform and hotel management platform. The Kew Green Hong Kong Regional Office will lay a solid foundation for HK CTS Hotels’ third party management business model in China, and support HK CTS Hotels to realize its scale expansion and globalization management strategies.”
Stephen Woodhouse, Director of Operations – Hong Kong, comments, ‘I’m very excited to be part of this next step in Kew Green Hotels’ journey into China and look forward to being part of the continued success of the relationship between HK CTS and Kew Green Hotels.’
