Jurys Inn Hinckley Island Hotel appoints new HR Manager

Carla Boardman has been appointed as Human Resources Manager Jurys Inn Hinckley Island Hotel and Conference Venue in Leicestershire which has just seen a £7.8m investment in 2016.

The site has undergone a major transformation over the past year, including the development of a brand new and unique Training Suite on the top floor which offers a private and independent space for conferencing and events, as well as extensive refurbishment of the bedrooms, public spaces, leisure facilities. The hotel has also added a Marco Pierre White restaurant and Costa Coffee.

Carla joins the team at Hinckley with a wealth of Employee Relations expertise, which will be key to offering support to the staff at the hotel at this time of expansion.

Carla said “I am thrilled to be taking on this role for Jurys Inn Hinckley Island Hotel and Conference Venue at such an exciting time for the hotel, where there has been so much investment from the group to develop their conference and events offering.  I am really looking forward to working with the team to help them be the best that they can be, so that Jurys Inn customers get the best service.”

With over 20 years of HR experience working for a number of large organisations including Ocado and TNT Logistics, Carla, is an expert Employee Relations Advisor. In her new role at Jurys Inn Hinckley Island Hotel and Conference Venue, she will be responsible for employee engagement, staff retention and will be working closely with the Heads of Departments to help their teams provide an exemplary customer experience.

The hotel’s refurbishment expands to include the redesign of over 350 bedrooms and public areas. The restaurant now offers the modern classic dishes of Marco Pierre White served in relaxing surroundings, and a Costa Coffee bar is on-site providing guests with their caffeine fixes and space for informal meetings. The leisure club has also been updated and now has a full gym, pool, sauna, steam room and relaxation area.

The hotel and conference venue, which is located conveniently close to Birmingham, the East Midlands International Airport and is just 57 minutes from London Euston offers a unique, self-contained Dedicated Training Suite which gives delegates complete privacy. Independent from the rest of the hotel, the suite comprises of a boardroom and two training rooms, three syndicate rooms and a contemporary breakout area.

In addition, the site has 26 separate meeting rooms and can accommodate up to 1000 delegates at any time. As part of the refurbishment, the two largest ground floor conference rooms, the London and Paris Suites – which can each accommodate up to 500 people each – have also been completely transformed to include comfortable and stylish new interiors. Plus, The Lakeside room, which is spread over multiple levels, complete with a bar and view of the lake, can accommodate up to 180 guests. The hotel also has a field adjacent which can be used as an outdoor space for team building events.
