Cristal International Standards launched to tackle hotel brand inconsistencyInternational hotel auditing company Check Safety First is launching its new trade arm, Cristal International Standards, to help hotel groups tackle the problem of managing brand consistency. Whatever the location, guests rely on the knowledge that one hotel will deliver the same level of service they experienced at another from the same group. By delivering audit-based services, Cristal International Standards can help hotel group leaders provide a consistent brand experience at each site.

BrandCheck and StandardsCheck

Flagship product, BrandCheck, helps hotel group directors monitor the performance of each individual hotel through a real-time dashboard report. Hotels will be evaluated by a tailored audit question-set that complies with the brand’s key values.

Another lead product, StandardsCheck, ensures that all hotels in the group adhere to important international legal and voluntary standards. Both products are supported by a toolbox of risk management modules that can be added, either by the corporate head office or as required by local hotel managers.

Consistent brand values and qualities required

Stephen Tate, Chairman, says: “Most hoteliers are facing the same opportunities and challenges in the expanding global marketplace. What sets a group apart is the values and qualities of the brand and these need to be consistent across the globe. Guests expect a hotel to provide the same level of service as another from the same group, wherever they are in the world.”

Threat of damaging customer feedback

Tate continues: “With over 65 million monthly users on TripAdvisor, the explosion of online review sites and social networks is a significant problem for the hospitality industry. Global brands have a major problem on their hands as damaging customer feedback can threaten their reputation. Cristal International Standards can help premier hotel groups protect themselves with brand, quality and standards assurance.”

Over the last decade, Check Safety First has helped hotels to improve standards by resolving almost a quarter of a million issues annually, making 22,000 audits and training 27,000 hotel employees. Its consumer division will continue to operate under the same name, providing holidaymakers with access to a database of hotels that have passed the necessary checks. Its wealth of experience will be behind the products and services provided for hotel group leaders, but will be delivered under the new Cristal International Standards brand.
