Malmaison Hotel du Vin Group, the leading UK boutique hotel brand and a member of Frasers Hospitality Group announces that it has installed automatic external defibrillators at each of the brands 33 hotels throughout the UK. The equipment provides life-saving technology for guests, staff and the local communities.
Working with the North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust (NWAS), the brands have additionally registered the hotels’ defibrillators within the National Defibrillator Programme. The programme’s mission is to provide defibrillators in busy places, giving the public access to them whilst provide training to employees in life support techniques. By doing so the programme aims to increase the proportion of people who survive a public cardiac arrest.
Malmaison Hotel du Vin Group has become one of the first groups to put defibrillators in all hotels, providing the community with a recognised location for those that may need emergency access to a defibrillator. The immediate use of a defibrillator during sudden cardiac arrest may increase the chance of survival up to 60-80% compared to 10% with good effective Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (“CPR”).
