Bespoke Hotels is delighted to announce the appointment of Richard Hartley to the role of General Manager at the Talbot Inn, Ripley, ahead of the historic property’s re-launch this summer, following a significant £1 million investment.
Richard’s previous roles include six years within the Bespoke Hotels group as General Manager of the Lugger Hotel, Portloe, during which time he secured two AA Rosettes for the restaurant, alongside Hotel of the Year accolades. Richard has also held roles at Royal Kings Arms Hotel in Lancaster, and the Imperial Hotel in Blackpool. He brings with him an outstanding sales history, as well as a track record for delivering consistently high standards of service.
“I am delighted to be joining The Talbot at such a crucial stage for the business”, Richard commented. “The opportunity to revitalise a property with such incredible history is an exciting one, and I am looking forward to re-establishing the Talbot’s reputation as a key regional wedding venue.”
Alongside this appointment, Bespoke Hotels is pleased to announce details of the notable investment taking place at the Talbot Inn, itself said to be the site on which Lord Nelson and Lady Hamilton’s love affair took flight. Refurbishment will total £1 million and encompass soft enhancements to the bedrooms and suites, alongside the restaurant and bar areas, as well as enhancing the hotel’s wedding facilities. Cochrane Design has been appointed to oversee the interiors.
“Significant enhancements are already underway on site”, added Graham Marskell, Managing Director of Operations for Bespoke Hotels. “We are making substantial improvements to the property’s public spaces and the wedding facilities in the old stables, as well as landscaping of the grounds and giving all bedrooms a significant makeover.”
