With 12 days to go until Christmas, the People 1st Training Company has launched a viral video urging small hospitality businesses to fight back against bad customer service.
The video forms part of the company’s campaign to give away 5,000 Government-funded passes for its WorldHost Insights e-learning programme.
Entitled ‘World Ho-Ho-Host – A Christmas Gift’, the video features examples of common customer service pitfalls small businesses fall into and encourages them to take advantage of the free training available.
Sharon Glancy, managing director of the People 1st Training Company, said: “The video is designed as a bit of fun – it’s definitely worth a watch for the singing alone – but it has a serious message behind it.
“At the busiest time of year for the hospitality industry, businesses can’t afford to ignore customer service – that’s why we’re giving SMEs free access to WorldHost Insights.
“As the training is online, staff can do it whenever it’s convenient, so there are none of the usual problems of releasing staff during a crucial period for the business. We hope the video brings a bit of Christmas cheer and that people will share it with colleagues or friends who they think could benefit from the training.”
The 1.5 WorldHost Insights course gives staff an introduction on how to connect with customers, communicate effectively with disabled customers and those from other cultures and how go the extra mile. It can be completed in one go, or in bite-sized chunks.
Featuring elements of the WorldHost training given to staff and volunteers at the London 2012 Olympics, it also includes opportunities for participants to test their skills and knowledge and ultimately learn why their role has such an impact on the customers’ experience.
