Harbour Hotels adds 3, confirms ambitious expansion plansHarbour Hotels has announced three new acquisitions, with properties now confirmed in Brighton, Bristol and South Sands (Salcombe). The Group’s ambitious expansion plans will now introduce the brand into some of the UK’s most desirable and vibrant cities, confirming its position as one of the most exciting luxury hotel Groups.

Brighton

The Group can now announce the acquisition of a landmark Brighton property, currently operating under the Umi brand. Located on Brighton’s famous seafront and just minutes from the iconic Brighton Pier, the impressive 77 bedroom hotel is set become the Brighton Harbour Hotel & Spa, complete with the city’s only rooftop pool.

Bristol

In Bristol, the Group has acquired two large former bank buildings on Corn Street. The prominent Headquarters of Lloyds Bank, as well as the adjacent former Midland Bank site, presents a rare opportunity to create a leading city centre hotel.

Offering an abundance of character and detail, these architecturally exceptional period buildings will lead the way in city luxury. With extensive refurbishment and innovative development plans, Harbour Hotels will link the two properties together, to create a distinctive new 42 bedroom hotel, featuring a Jetty restaurant, Harbour Spa and Bristol’s most impressive events space, set within what was the property’s imposing banking hall.

Salcombe

Finally, Harbour Hotels has announced its second Salcombe property, with ‘Tides Reach’ on South Sands beach set to join the Group. Located on the seafront with spectacular views, Harbour Hotels will now further maximise on this setting with a new 40 bedroom wing.

Having recently been awarded the title of Devon’s ‘Large Hotel of the Year’ for its Salcombe Harbour Hotel, the Group will now introduce its award-winning luxury to South Sands too.

Jetty restaurant concept

The Group’s award-winning Jetty restaurant concept will be rolled out across all new acquisitions. Headed up by Chef Patron Alex Aitken, The Jetty brand successfully champions sustainable, local seafood, with a series of accolades to support this; most recently as runner-up for the Caterer’s ‘2015 Seafood Restaurant of the Year’.

In addition to its food and beverage success, the unique Harbour Spa brand has been established across its hotels, with luxury facilities alongside indulgent treatments. Recently described by Harper’s Bazaar magazine as “world-class”, the brand will feature across all new properties.

Ambitious growth plans

Harbour Hotels will now tap into the some of the UK’s most desirable locations, with hotels that lead the way in style and substance. Mike Warren, MD of Harbour Hotels commented:

“These acquisitions further illustrate our ambitious growth plans; becoming one of the UK’s most exciting hotel brands. Expanding into cities such as Bristol and Brighton brings a new dimension to the Group, with properties now featured in coastal, country and city locations.”
