ABode Chester appoints Executive Head Chef

ABode Chester has appointed a new Executive Head Chef, Ian Hird. Ian took up his position earlier this month, and brings with him an excellent reputation carved from over 20 years in the restaurant business, having cooked at the Chester Grosvenor Hotel, The Belfry Hotel in Birmingham, and Michelin-starred Mass Restaurant & Cocktail Bar in London.  Away from the UK, Ian has also held positions at a number of high profile restaurants in New Zealand, Guernsey, and on board luxury cruises and yachts around the world.

Exclusive dining location

ABode Chester is widely regarded as one of the most exclusive dining locations in Chester and includes the Michael Caines Restaurant, serving up the much-loved chef’s European-inspired cuisine; the Café Bar and Grill offering delicious dishes in a casual dining atmosphere; and the Lounge Bar, a sophisticated spot to stop for a cocktail or a glass of champagne.

In his new role as Executive Head Chef at ABode Chester, Ian will continue to create innovative dishes for the Michael Caines Restaurant, making the most of the freshest local, regional, and seasonal produce.  This summer, guests can look forward to trying dishes such as slow cooked guinea fowl with confit wing, braised leg, and pearl barley, and peanut butter parfait with vanilla yoghurt, banana ice cream, and salted popcorn.

The Michael Caines Restaurant is open seven days a week, offering the Amazing Graze lunch menu comprising mix and match tasting plates, starting from £15 for three courses; the early evening table d’hote menu costing just £17.95 for two courses, or £22.95 for three courses; the tasting menu costing £50 Monday to Thursday and £65 Friday to Saturday; with an à la carte menu also available each evening, offering a wide variety of seasonal dishes. Guests can also choose from an à la carte menu and seasonal offers throughout the year at the Café Bar and Grill, open on Fridays and Saturdays.
