Bespoke Hotels has appointed Jeff Ward to the role of Managing Director at its latest landmark property, the spectacular Hotel Gotham due to open in April, 2015 at the head of Manchester’s iconic King Street.
Previously occupying roles across Europe, including as far afield as Russia and Germany, Jeff joins Bespoke having overseen the transformation of Wimbledon’s Cannizaro House into a renowned, contemporary destination boasting three AA Rosettes.
Beginning his career in a trainee role at the Park Hilton in Munich, just 9 months later Jeff was graduating to Conference and Banqueting Manager at the Bristol Hilton International and had begun popping up on “30 under 30” industry lists. He then moved to the role of Director of Food and Beverage in Russia’s first 5 star western-managed hotel, The Grand Hotel Europe in St Petersburg.
Now taking the reins at Bespoke’s flagship Hotel Gotham, which will feature 60 bedrooms alongside 5 inner-sanctum suites, a restaurant – “Honey” – as well as a rooftop bar and club – “Brass” – Jeff aims to quickly re-establish the site to a position of sovereignty within the city. An art deco edifice that has towered over the heart of Manchester since 1928, the building is undergoing extensive refurbishment prior to its re-launch as a luxury five star hotel in 2015.
“I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to lead such an exciting project”, said Jeff. “I aim to utilise all my local knowledge, enthusiasm and attention to detail to ensure the King of King Street regains its crown not just in Manchester, but nationally as well.”
