‘Ultimate Hotel Prize’ won by ‘army wife’ from StockportStockport resident, Charis Oldfield, 31, has won the biggest prize ever given by a UK Hotel.  The Cranleigh Boutique, based in Bowness-on-Windermere, launched ‘the Ultimate Prize’ on its facebook page in June 2013, at which time, the Hotel had amassed an impressive 66,000 followers.

The drive of the campaign was that on reaching 100,000 ‘likes’, one lucky winner would win the ‘Ultimate Prize’ – the opportunity for free use of the Cranleigh Boutique in its entirety, for the duration of a weekend – worth an estimated £8,500.  With eighteen rooms available, Charis will receive the full use of the five star facilities to invite whomever she wishes, with a champagne reception for all, on arrival.

With the Cranleigh Boutique’s facebook page reaching 100,000 ‘likes’ in November, Facebook followers were invited to explain why they should win the ‘Ultimate Prize’. A staggering 23,500 entries were received, with Charis being crowned the winner.

“We are beyond delighted that Charis has won the ‘Ultimate Prize’ and believe our facebook followers chose a very worthy winner.” said owner Stephen Hargreaves.  “It’s been a real journey with this particular competition, the sheer magnitude of which is completely unique.  It’s our way of saying ‘thank-you’ to everybody for their support on Facebook.  Enabling one winner to experience a luxurious stay in the beautiful Lake District, with family and friends, is really special and we look forward to welcoming Charis, Stuart and their party to the Cranleigh Boutique.”
